PROJECT UPDATE
Route 668 (Duval Road) to Route 7495 (Westerleigh Parkway) Chesterfield County, VA
Shirley Contracting continues construction on the Western Area Infrastructure Improvements project, a new roadway alignment connecting Route 668 (Duval Road) to Route 7495 (Westerleigh Parkway), which will serve the community of Chesterfield County and three new Western Area schools.
As construction progresses, we remain committed to keeping commuters and residents informed. Updates to the project include a new traffic pattern implemented on May 6th, which opened the extension of Westerleigh Parkway and a portion of the new John Thomas Way to vehicular traffic, providing access to the new Western Area Elementary School.
The existing detour along Route 668 (Duval Road) implemented for the recently completed Otterdale Road at Duval Road Roundabout Project will remain in place until Spring 2027 to facilitate the road’s reconstruction and the installation of a new roundabout connecting Duval Road to John Thomas Way. The detour will require the closure of Duval Road from the new roundabout at the intersection of Duval and Otterdale Road, extending approximately three-quarters of a mile toward Skinquarter Road. Access for property owners residing within the detour limits will be safely maintained throughout this phase of construction.PROJECT PHOTOS AND VIDEOS
